The Viet Nam War
I never protested
Many who did
They got arrested
An innocent protest
Occurred at Kent State
The National Guard
Did not hesitate
Shooting innocent students
Who didn’t have guns
Who ran from gun shots
Some couldn’t outrun
I wasn’t involved
In the sex revolution
It had nothing to do
With our constitution
I wasn’t at Woodstock
I just watched the movie
I did wear love beads
I thought I looked groovy
Make love, not war
Was what they proclaimed
Sex before marriage
They weren’t ashamed
The days went by
Those years went fast
What happened then
Forever will last
