Remember

You knew the dates
Of important occasions
Birthdays, anniversaries
And graduations

Reciting the words
Of prayers you knew
Knowing the names
Of the plants you grew

Walking the streets
Alone late at night
Policemen would say
You weren’t acting right

I felt it was best
Though you were upset
In this nursing home
Good care you'd get

After numerous visits
My name you forgot
I tried not to act
Too distraught

Now sitting in silence
Not knowing what day
The words you knew
You can no longer say

I remember the love
I’ve always been shown
When I was real young
And now on my own

My loving mother
I sometimes will see
By the look in your eyes
That you recognize me

If your dog could talk

If your dog could talk
What would he say
How are you feeling
Did you have a nice day

If your dog could talk
What would she say
If you give me a treat
I'll sit and stay

If your dog could talk
What would he say
I need to be groomed
Please wash me today

If your dog could talk
What would she say
Take me for a walk
At least once a day

If your dog could talk
What would he say
I don't like the cat
Let's give it away

If your dog could talk
What would she say
I'll always be loyal
I'll try to obey

If your dog could talk
What would he say
Give me attention
I'm eager to play

If your dog could talk
What would she say
I miss you so much
When you go away

If your dog could talk
What would he say
I'll guard your home
Both night and day

If dogs could talk
What might they say
Will they tattle on you
When your spouse is away

Let's dance

Ginger Rogers
And Fred Astaire
A very famous
Dancing pair

In musical films
They were admired
To dance like them
Was much desired

Mr. Bojangles
With worn out shoes
Danced in the street
He chose to amuse

Ballroom dancing
Come waltz with me
Waltzing Matilda
How happy I’ll be

The Cha-Cha, the Twist
The Texas 2-step
Break-dancers need
Plenty of pep

A prima ballerina
A New York Rockette
They did achieve
With practice and sweat

Kick up your heels
It's time to dance
Don't say no
Just give it a chance

I'm such a good person

I’m such a good person
Who’s careful to select
The friends I want to have
The others I’ll reject

I’m such a good person
Demure and very sweet
Complimenting everyone
So they will kiss my feet

I’m such a good person
I always wear a smile
I'll let you be my friend
But only for a while

I’m such a good person
But sometimes I deceive
Saying I’m not feeling well
My reason you’ll believe

I’m such a good person
That’s how I do appear
I hope I'm not disliked
That is my biggest fear
