Sun of a gun

A great invention
The gun became
No gruesome deaths
No one put aflame

No more crucifixions
No swords to be used
To chop off a head
Of someone accused

Bows and arrows
A thing of the past
For hunting prey
Just give them a blast

Their enemies
Lined up in a row
Each shot in the head
In the trenches they go

A bank robbery
Just show your gun
People will listen
They won't try to run

Disgruntled teens
Brought guns to school
Shooting the students
They thought were cool

The guns that you own
You need to hide
Children may find them
And many have died

Titanic - once the greatest ship in the world

100th Anniversary of the Titanic

April 10, 1912 - Set sail from Southampton, England to New York City
April 14, 1912 - At 11:40 p.m. hit an iceberg on the Atlantic Ocean
April 15, 1912 - At 2:20 a.m. sunk off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada

Titanic was once
A great luxury ship
Where thousands of people
Embarked on a trip

On its maiden voyage
The wealthy came
And those in steerage
For a better life to claim

It took thousands of men
To build this great ship
And after three years
It would leave its boat slip

The ship was designed
With watertight doors
So the ocean wouldn't reach
The passengers' floors

Four days underway
An iceberg was hit
Mostly women and children
In lifeboats would fit

Without enough lifeboats
The men were doomed
When a few hours later
This ship was consumed

Not a chance to survive
In the sea that was cold
Very quickly they died
Is what we were told

It soon became known
Mistakes that were made
An unsinkable ship
Everyone was betrayed
