I'm a baseball player

I’m a baseball player – Roger Clemens
(formerly played for the Houston Astros)

I’m a baseball player
And I didn’t cheat
I never took steroids
Though I’m hard to beat

After two lengthy trials
The jury has said
That I wasn’t guilty
That’s how I had pled

They said I bulked up
While playing my sport
But not from steroids
My lawyer said in court

After two separate trials
Much money was spent
For my attorney
And the government

Performance enhancing
Some athletes may use
But why this crusade
Did our Congress choose

William Roger Clemens (born August 4, 1962), nicknamed "The Rocket", is an American former Major League Baseball starting pitcher who played 23 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for four teams, including the Houston Astros. Clemens was one of the most dominant pitchers in major league history, tallying 354 wins, a 3.12 earned run average (ERA), and 4,672 strikeouts, the third-most all time. An 11-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion, he won seven Cy Young Awards during his career, the most of any pitcher in MLB history. Clemens was known for his fierce competitive nature and for his hard-throwing pitching style that he used to intimidate batters.
Clemens was found not guilty on June 18, 2012 for the charges of suspicion of lying to Congress on August 19, 2010 when he testified that he never took performance enhancing durgs.
