Little Boy (2 years old fighting stage 4 cancer)

One day I had heard
About a little guy
He had gotten real sick
But no one knows why

His mother keeps writing
Letting us know
Her son will get better
Though it would be slow

This two year old boy
Can not comprehend
The needles and tubes
Will help him mend

He's never alone
His mom's always there
He's poked and prodded
It doesn't seem fair

Into his small body
The chemo flowed
The very first session
Along a long road

Riding his bike
On the hospital floor
He isn't aware
Of what he'll endure

More chemo he needs
At home he can't stay
But he will be home
On Christmas Day

Carter Dang
You're a tough little guy
With a family who loves you
They won't let you die

Modern Churches

The churches today
Can house many people
Though you won't find
A spire or a steeple

A Houston mega church
Had been a stadium
Their pastor is famous
And thousands will come

In modern churches
No church bells will chime
There is no bell tower
For someone to climb

No stained glass windows
The alters are plain
But those who come
Don't seem to complain

Those grand catherdrals
That they use to build
If you get to see them
I'm sure you'll be thrilled

You'll get caught

You're secret's not safe
You will get caught
When you beat your wife
And you say it's her fault

If you're rich and famous
And you sleep around
When you get caught
It could bring you down

It may take a long time
Finding out you did wrong
Fondling those boys
Who you told, "come along"

And funds you embezzled
It was you they trusted
Their money you took
Everyone was disgusted

If you view porno sites
If you pose in the nude
Your political term
May not be renewed

Don't rob any banks
And never molest
Otherwise you will hear
"you're under arrest"

Taylor Pork Roll

On the boardwalk
When I took a stroll
Soon I'd get near
Taylor Pork Roll

As I approached
This pork roll place
Hunger raged
Upon my face

One slice of pork roll
Was what I'd eat
At 60 cents
It was quite a treat

Pork roll slices
Grilled in a line
It didn't take long
Before I'd get mine

Perfectly cooked
And put on a bun
I'd eat with catsup
Until I was done

Evelyn Greenwood
You sure made my day
For the Taylor Pork Roll
You sent my way

Karaoke Singers

Karaoke singers
Don't appeal to me
Are they wanna bees
Singing songs for free

Some sing very good
Others are real bad
Countless songs are sung
When they're done I'm glad

Karaoke singers
They like what they do
Singing famous songs
And entertaining you

Feet for fish

The fish were nipping
At my bare feet
While in their tank
My feet were a treat

Tiny fish swimming
Swarming to eat
Surrounding my toes
And the soles of my feet

On Mykenos Island
My feet fed the fish
Unlike having fish
Placed on my dish

For fifteen euros
My feet became prey
To try something new
I'd eagerly pay

Three desserts - Star Princess, Horizon Grill

Three desserts
Are on my plate
I'll eat them all
Aware of my fate

Three little pieces
Of cake and pie
I'll take for dessert
I must tell you why

I cannot resist
So many choices
Take me, take me
I hear their voices

I've already paid
For this buffet
So three desserts
Will be on my tray

The walking I do
Will not justify
That chocolate cake
That piece of pie

I won't even think
About gaining weight
On this cruise I'll put
Three desserts on my plate

Traveling

I'm going on vacation
To unfamiliar places
And thousands that I'll see
Are unfamiliar faces

My suitcase is all packed
Just one the airlines say
And if it's overweight
More money I will pay

I have anxiety
I'm going far away
The sights I want to see
At home I cannot stay

My husband wants to go
He's really so excited
As soon as we arrive
I'm sure I'll be delighted

A European cruise
How foolish to complain
The worst part of the trip
Is being on a plane

Music

Rap, jazz
Rhythm and blues
Elevator music
Makes you snooze

Country Western
Rock and roll
Listen to music
While taking a stroll

Famous singers
Over the years
The Beatles and Elvis
Brought girls to tears

Always new singers
Their music we'll play
Your favorite songs
Will brighten your day

I hate to exercise

I hate to exercise
I'm physically unfit
I hardly take a walk
Because I'd rather sit

To climb a flight of stairs
I'll seek the elevator
And if you choose to climb
See you later alligator

I never walk too far
When in a parking lot
I've often had to wait
For a good parking spot

The treadmill is a bore
You're always in one place
I have to hold on tight
While walking a slow pace

The stationary bike
It's not too fun to ride
I have a bicycle
That I should ride outside

I exercise in water
The workout's really great
The class is one long hour
I make sure I'm not late

The calories I burn
I'm hoping they're enough
Swim class makes me hungry
I will eat too much stuff

What is your favorite thing?

Your favorite movie
Your favorite song
Your favorite friend
Who tags along

Your favorite color
Your favorite team
Your favorite pie
Topped with ice cream

Your favorite restaurant
Your favorite perfume
Your favorite chair
In your living room

Your favorite number
It may be thirteen
Your favorite soap
To get you clean

The Carousel

Step on up
And choose your horse
No need to fear
He'll stay on course

Hold onto the reins
The ride starts out slow
But after a while
Away you'll go

Up and down
Around and around
Your feet should never
Touch the ground

Beautiful horses
Encircle the ride
Another horse
Will be by your side

Regardless of age
The ride is still fun
Around and around
And soon you'll be done

The carousel
An awesome sight
When taking a ride
It's pure delight

Tea for two

Tea for two

And two for tea

Two to tango

You and me

Two hands they say

Are better than one

A table for two

A pair has more fun

Two eyes, two ears

One mouth, one nose

Two arms and legs

Ten fingers and toes

Two sides to a story

That's very true

A set of twins

An now they're through

Osama bin Laden is dead - Sunday, May 1, 2011

There was a special broadcast
Osama bin Laden was dead
This news was quite a shock
Osama was shot in the head

On Sept. 11th his followers
Waged war on the U.S.A..
Two jets flew into the Towers
On a pleasant 2001 day

The worst attack by terrorists
For a cause they willingly died
Bisecting two great towers
With thousands of people inside

Both towers fell and crumbled
While the Pentagon was hit
And passengers on flight 93
Fought back and wouldn’t submit

Though almost ten years later
Osama bin Laden was killed
A covert operation planned
Their mission was fulfilled

It might take quite a while
To capture our enemies
But we will show the world
They can’t do what they please

I'm here in Cyberspace

I’m here in cyberspace
You cannot see my face
Your bank account I'll trace
Because it won’t erase
It’s in a big briefcase
Your house, I know the place
I even know your race
Your emails I will trace
At home or your workplace
Your privacy I’ll chase
And problems that you face
I’ll track you everyplace
You’re in my database
I live in Cyberspace
I brought my new suitcase
Out here is my home base

Your life can change in an instant

Your life can change
When you least expect
Because our lives
Are not perfect

A spouse gets sick
A sudden death
She says good-bye
With her last breath

They had a good life
And didn’t know why
He seemed so healthy
So why did he die

Who will die first
Who will die last
Who will suffer
Who will die fast

We can’t predict
We’ll never know
When it’s our turn
When we have to go

But those who survive
Their lives will change
And living alone
Will now seem strange

Make a donation

Make a donation
To those without food
They live far away
With their large brood

For a dollar a day
A child can be saved
Where they play in the dirt
And streets aren’t paved

Preventing starvation
Has made you aware
When you make a donation
It shows that you care

But if you’re trying
To make ends meet
Who will help you
When you’re without heat

No foreign donations
Will come your way
You can not survive
Without any pay

No advertisements
Explaining your plight
Your job went to China
That’s really not right

It’s nice to be helpful
To those who are poor
But in our own country
Why do they ignore

Whataburger

Hamburger patties
Are easy to make
They don’t cost much
This chopped up steak

Eat them rare
Or eat them well done
And put them on
A freshly baked bun

Fast food restaurants
Will make burgers quick
And you can decide
Which burger to pick

They’re easy to eat
When you’re in a hurry
But are they healthy
Many will worry

Hamburger restaurants
They all specialize
Add what you want
Eat them with fries

You may pay a lot
For a hamburger meal
At a fast food place
Get a meal deal

We love eating burgers
Billions are sold
To eat when we’re young
To eat when we’re old

They met their Prince Charming

Snow White was a beauty
Seven dwarfs she’d befriend
When kissed by a Prince
Her sleeping spell would end

Cinderella's fairy mother
Helped her get to the ball
When a Prince found her shoe
He amazed them all

Sleeping Beauty fell asleep
While at the spinning wheel
When kissed by a Prince
This spell he’d repeal

If a real Prince charming
You may happen to meet
When he gives you a kiss
You'll be swept off your feet

Guys and Gals

When you call us guys
I will take offense
I say, "we're ladies"
That's my defense

You can call us girls
You may even say gals
But we're not guys
We're not your pals

We don't call men gals
We won't even try
If we called them gals
We might get a black eye

You have nice hair

You have a lot of hair
It's thick and very straight
It's easy to take care of
Your date will never wait

Your hair's a pretty color
It's very bright and red
No matter how it's styled
It looks good on your head

You're a platinum blonde
And men will often stare
Blondes do have more fun
Since you bleached your hair

Your curly, frizzy hair
It's as black as night
It costs so much to style
To make it look alright

Your hair has now turned gray
It must have been your fate
It really doesn't matter
It still makes you look great

I won't peel potatoes

I won’t peel potatoes
It’s too hard to do
And ironing clothes
I’m through with that too

I won't bake cookies
Cupcakes or pies
I'm not Betty Crocker
I won't win a prize

I won’t wash my car
While I’m outside
Cause inside a carwash
My car will ride

I won’t answer the phone
Unless I can see
On caller I.D.
If the call is for me

I won’t send a thank you
That I have to write
I’ll type you an email
Is that impolite

I won’t give up shopping
For clothing and shoes
And eating chocolate
I'll never refuse

Underneath your uniform

Underneath your uniform
Most would never know
You’re a real good athlete
A football you will throw

Underneath their uniforms
Arms covered with tattoos
To fight our country’s battles
These heroes won’t refuse

Policemen in their uniforms
Be sure to be polite
Even when in plain clothes
They'll still break up a fight

A bridal gown’s a uniform
They mostly look the same
A strapless gown that’s white
She’ll change her maiden name

People who wear uniforms
It shows us what they do
Pilots, nurses, postmen
Plus the clean-up crew
