September 11th Memorial

The Towers are gone

But we’ll never forget

The lives that were lost

We’ll always regret

Where the Towers had been

Now fountains appear

And the first responders

Performed without fear

A tribute to all

Those victims who died

Along the fountains

Their names are inscribed

The Freedom Tower

Rose -up in its place

But the Twin Towers

It will never replace

Lotto tickets

I’m sitting in McDonald's

With my coffee while debating

Should I buy a lotto ticket

What a problem I’ve created

It will cost me five dollars

To scratch the card and see

I had won fifty dollars

So now they've hooked me

Five dollars isn’t much

Though it is if you are poor

But the people on the corner

Wanting money, I’ll ignore
