Urban Cowboy

I’m an urban cowboy
A real city slicker
Never sat by a camp fire
Watching flames flicker

I’m an urban cowboy
No horse do I ride
Except for the horse
You put money inside

My white shirt is starched
My blue jeans are pressed
A big brass buckle
Is how I'm dressed

My snakeskin boots
Have a pointy toe
These cowboy boots
Aren’t worn in the snow

On top of my head
Is a tan cowboy hat
I watch what I eat
Cause a cowboy ain't fat

I’m an urban cowboy
This is what I wear
Everywhere I go
People will stare

The second time around

They met again late in life
She was divorced
He just lost his wife

He was her high school beau
They dated two years
It was so long ago

They went to a singles dance
In search of friendship
And not romance

She saw him by the door
After graduation
She saw him no more

Was he still the love of her life
This sad and lonely man
Who just lost his wife

And then she waved to him
Bringing back memories
Of their high school gym

Anxious to be by her side
He crossed the room quickly
And then they both cried

She was pleasant and cute
And very funny
Each of them had lots of money

He was soft spoken and polite
To be with him
Was quite a delight

Their children soon became upset
About the money
They might not get

A husband who cared
For his dutiful wife
Until an illness claimed her life

Years after he fought in the war
She told her husband
She loved him no more

A second chance for an older pair
Another marriage
A new life to share

Either young or old or middle age
True love comes along
At any stage

The fountain of youth

Face lifts
And tummy tucks
Each of these
Cost big bucks

Eye glasses
When rejected
Lasik gets your
Eyes corrected

Want more hair
Use Rogaine
Lap band to
Avoid weight gain

Hide the gray
Color hair
Buy some sexy
Underwear

From the fountain
Take a drink
You’re as young
As you think

Baby it cold outside

Strapless dresses
Women will wear
If it’s freezing outside
Their arms will be bare

A strapless gown
On her wedding day
It might fall down
I hope not, she'll pray

With missing sleeves
There’s no discount
So finish the dress
For the same amount

Men will be warm
In their attire
But when it’s hot
They will perspire

Sleeveless dresses
Women will wear
Although they’ll be cold
They don’t seem to care

A responsible parent

A responsible parent
Provides food to eat
A nice place to live
And shoes on your feet

A responsible parent
Holds onto their child
Wherever they go
So they don’t run wild

A responsible parent
Warns them of danger
Don’t talk or take candy
From any stranger

A responsible parent
Lets their child to swim
So they won't drown
In case they fall in

A responsible parent
Lets their child have fun
But they also make sure
Their homework is done

A responsible parent
Warns you if you drive
Don’t ever get drunk
Or you may not survive

A responsible parent
Let’s you join the service
A risk you'll be taking
But they won't act nervous

A responsible parent
Lets you go your own way
Hiking communist borders
There forever they'll stay

Blue Jeans

Levi Strauss jeans
The jeans he designed
Would he ever believe
His jeans we’d still find

Strong denim cloth
Cowboys would wear
For rounding up steer
They hardly would tear

Levis and Wranglers
You’d mainly find
Till companies made
A similar kind

People wear jeans
With prices that vary
But fancy jeans
Don't wear on the prairie

Acid or stone washed
Black and dark blue
Straight leg or flared
Should appeal to you

Some jeans will stretch
Or make you look thin
Buy several pairs
To put yourself in

Denim jackets
And denim shirts
To wear with jeans
And don’t forget skirts

All ages can wear them
They cost more if torn
For fancy occasions
Jeans shouldn’t be worn

Money spent on hair

The amount of money
Spent on our hair
The better it looks
The more people stare

Expensive shampoos
We use to wash
And to condition
So we’ll have panache

Straighten your hair
If you dislike curls
Or get a perm
If you like swirls

To lengthen the hair
Extensions they’ll add
The wrong color hair
Will make you mad

Some ladies go often
And some hardly go
To get their hair done
They like hair to grow

A beauty appointment
To look your best
The more you have done
The more you’ll invest
