A cross country trip
I have embarked
With my spouse who is driving
And a dog that won’t bark
We’re pulling a trailer
The first one we bought
He knows how to work it
Because he was taught
The A/C is noisy
I can’t fall asleep
The dog slept soundly
Made hardly a peep
When I get hungry
The place I will go
The Waffle House Restaurant
With our trailer in tow
Waffle House Restaurants
From state to state
A pecan waffle
I want on my plate
Pretty scenery
Hills and trees
Away from the city
Plus a tropical breeze
If I don’t get to shop
At least for a day
I’ll read my book
Along the way
Another stop
We’ll make tonight
I hope I’ll sleep soundly
At this next RV site
