I'm one of a kind

I'm a pretty dog
That's one of a kind
Although I'm a mutt
My owners don't mind

My mom was a lab
My dad was mixed
And I was born
Before she got fixed

A poodle, a shepherd
They’re pedigrees
But one thing’s for sure
We all mark the trees

Those of one breed
All look the same
To tell them apart
Call out their name

We’re never invited
To any dog show
Or asked to be fostered
Where pedigrees go

Mongrels are smart
It's often been said
Forget the Dalmatian
Choose us instead
