I built it for you

I built your big home
More space than you need
I have a small home
With children to feed

I won’t own a home
As big as yours
With balconies
And tile floors

Only two people
Will reside here
Your home on the lake
Guests soon will appear

My home is run down
In need of repairs
While I build mansions
With winding stairs

I work in construction
And hammer the nails
Adhering to all
Your minor details

You’ll live in this home
It’s your decision
And I build homes
With great precision

It seems unfair
You get to reside
In a beautiful home
I built with pride
