The family farm
Is being sold
To build more homes
So I’ve been told
Lots of money
They’re being paid
Otherwise
They’d have stayed
Too good an offer
To be refused
Their fertile land
Won’t ever be used
Wild animals
Have been chased
No more trees
So they’re displaced
More new homes
Are being built
Until they’re bought
Now where’s the guilt
More family farms
Have now been sold
To build more stores
So I’ve been told
Too many stores
In shopping centers
Standing empty
Without any renters
The family farm
Will not remain
As song as someone
Would like to claim
