The stars and stripes
Are red, white and blue
And Betsy Ross
Sure knew what to do
George Washington wanted
A flag to display
When Betsy was chosen
She answered okay
With seven red stripes
And six that are white
Our first colonies
A choice that was right
White stars for each state
The background was blue
When new states were added
Their star was there too
I’ve seen many flags
Though none can compare
To our red, white and blue
Please handle with care

Phony people
I hate phony people
The ones who make pretend
That they really like you
But aren’t a true friend
I hate phony people
Who stab you in the back
For no apparent reason
It’s their choice to attack
I hate phony people
Who say they hate someone
Then before you know it
They’re both out having fun
I hate phony people
These people I don’t trust
Because they’re insincere
Get rid of them you must

Time marches on
Don’t tie me down
With all these chores
Doing the laundry
And scrubbing the floors
Don’t tie me up
While I’m at work
Constantly calling
I’m going berserk
Don’t tie me down
By having a child
I’m still very young
And want to run wild
Don’t tie me up
With a neck tie
Women don’t wear them
So why should I
Time marches on
And one day you’ll find
What once bothered you
You no longer mind

At the end of the tunnel
At the end of the tunnel
There will be light
Your struggles will end
You’ll be alright
There’s a light at the end of the tunnel
If a pot of gold
Does appear
You’ll have to walk far
The rainbow’s not near
There’s a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow
Whenever clouds
Come your way
They really may
Improve your day
Every cloud has a silver lining

When it comes to money
When it comes to money
No one’s your friend
They're jealous of you
And what you can spend
When it comes to money
No one’s your friend
If they ask for money
The friendship might end
When it comes to money
No one’s your friend
If you lend them money
On you they’ll depend
When it comes to money
No one’s your friend
How you spend your money
They won’t comprehend
When it comes to money
No one’s your friend
Don’t give away money
Just to befriend
When it comes to money
No one’s your friend
They want donations
For you to send
When it comes to money
No one’s your friend
Unless they have money
Your friendship will blend

What these colors represent
On the forth of July
The flags are flown
Red, white and blue
Was our first flag sewn
Halloween colors
Orange and black
Trick or treat candy
Should go in a sack
Christmas colors
Are green and red
Merry Christmas
It’s often said
On Valentines Days
There’s many to choose
A red candy heart
Is hard to refuse
On Saint Patrick’s Day
Be sure to wear green
You may be pinched
If this color's not seen
Here comes the bride
All dressed in white
In her beautiful gown
She’s a lovely sight
A green beret
For those who fight
And camouflage
For day or night
Dearly departed
Black will be worn
Showing their grief
For whom they mourn
The Red Hat Ladies
Wear purple clothes
Colors that clash
They don’t oppose

Childhood games
A set of jacks and a little ball
This game was lots of fun
Playing in or out of doors
Holding ten jacks meant you won
Hopscotch was always played outside
A piece of chalk is all we’d need
To mark the blocks from one to ten
Tossing the stone and then we'd proceed
The jumping rope was very long
We’d take turns holding the ends
Little songs we would recite
While jumping rope with our friends
Surfing the waves on my rubber raft
Enjoying the warm summer breeze
Making castles in the sand
We’d do this with expertise
Riding our bikes and taking walks
For me it seemed like fun
Kids are now playing video games
And are hardly out in the sun

Stage fright
I have to say
I truly admire
Public speakers
Who try to inspire
Millions will listen
To what they say
The politicians
And while they pray
Speeches and sermons
Can last for an hour
But your attention
They will devour
When singing on stage
They do so with ease
I’ve never seen anyone
Cough or sneeze
A field that’s a stage
On which athletes play
A bundle of nerves
They never display
And they're not afraid
Taking center stage
Defending someone
If paid a good wage
The clergymen
And the musicians
Do not fear the stage
Nor do politicians
I won’t sing or dance
Or give a speech
I'll let somebody else
Stand up and preach

The Star Spangled Banner
Composed by Francis Scott Key in defense
of Fort McHenry, Sept. 20th, 1814; Congress
proclaimed it the U.S, National Anthem in 1931
We'll sing this song
Along with the crowd
There's always a singer
Who sings it out loud
At sporting events
They won’t start the game
This song will be sung
Our pride we proclaim
At the Olympics
Our athletes won gold
Their anthem was played
A sight to behold
Four stanzas were written
By Francis Scott Key
He wrote as a tribute
To our great country
Our National Anthem
We'll rise when we sing
The flag will be flown
And tears this may bring
The Star Spangled Banner
It states we are free
We’re the home of the brave
And we all should agree

Dogs riding in cars
Dogs riding in cars
The wind on their faces
They’ll go with their owner
To all kinds of places
Dogs riding in cars
A happy sight
Wherever they’re going
It's quite alright
When left in the car
Your dog will need air
Patiently waiting
They don’t seem to care
But when I return
My dog’s on my seat
I wish she could drive
That would be neat
Dogs riding in cars
Mine’s waiting to see
I hope it’s the park
Where she's taking me
