Birds on a wire

How amazing it is seeing all the Starlings standing together on the utility wires at a major intersection in Houston, TX

When it’s dusk
They congregate
Doesn’t matter
Who comes late

Hundreds filling
Many spaces
Coming from
So many places

Standing on
Their own trapeze
Swaying in
A gentle breeze

Wires crossing
Overhead
Chirping sounds
Are being said

Traffic’s moving
Through the light
Soon it will
Get dark tonight

Happy though
I got to see
All those birds
Before they flee
