Will your marriage last

A high school sweetheart
A college romance
Will you stay together
There's a good chance

Will you drift apart
Did you marry too fast
Were you really in love
Will the marriage last

Will you cheat on your spouse
Will you want to flee
Though you have children
Do you want to be free

Will you seek adventure
Will you drift apart
Will you change your gender
For a new life to start

Will you weather the storm
When times are tough
Or will you just say
You've had enough

Will it be a marriage
That lasts many years
Or for a brief time
That soon ends in tears

Patriotic Songs

The Star spangled banner

A song that’s sung so many times

The words by now you know

But there are many other songs

So I’ve listed them below

America the beautiful

Oh beautiful for spacious skies

For amber waves of grain

For purple mountain majesty

Above the fruited plain

America, America, God shed his grace on thee

And crown thy good with brotherhood

From sea to shining sea

God bless America

God bless America, land that I love

Stand beside her and guide her

Through the night with a light from above

From the mountains, to the prairies

To the oceans white with foam

God bless America, my home sweet home

My country tis of thee

My country tis of thee

Sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing

Land where my fathers died

Land of the pilgrim’s pride

From every mountain side

Let freedom ring

This land is your land

This land is your land, this land is my land

From California to the New York island

From the Redwood Forest

To the gulf stream waters

This land was made for you and me

This is my country

This is my country, land of my birth

This is my country, grandest on earth

I pledge thee my allegiance

America the bold

For this is my country

To have and to hold

Proud to be an American

And I’m proud to be an American

Where at least I know I’m free

And I won’t forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me

And I gladly stand up, next to you

And defend her still today

Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land

God bless the USA

Some People

Some people are nice

Some people are mean

Some are dirty

Some are clean

Some people are short

Some people are tall

Some are big

Some are small

Some people are white

Some people are brown

Some always smile

Some always frown

Some live in the cold

Some live in the heat

Some live in a house

Some live on the street

Some people have money

Some people are poor

Some sleep in a bed

Some sleep on the floor

Some people will help

Some people will harm

Some lost a lost a leg

Some lost an arm

Some people are bald

Some people have hair

Some are generous

Some don’t share

Some have a child

Some have a brother

Some have a sister

Some have no mother

Some people are old

Some people are young

Some speak kindly

Some with a sharp tongue

Some only laugh

Some only cry

Some don’t care

Some always try

Some friends aren't meant to be

Some friends aren't meant to be
You have to let them go
They always hurt your feelings
Respect they never show

A friend should not be told
Something confidential
Because you never know
They can become judgmental

A friend who is offensive
And won't apologize
You cannot reason with them
To reach a compromise

A dog can be your friend
They love to hear you talk
Waiting for those words
"How about a little walk"

Be your own best friend
Then no one can deceive
No one can betray you
And that you can believe

Volunteers

Volunteers are priceless

They’re needed everyday

Donating their time

Without asking for pay

Coaching kid’s sports

And scouting troops

Plus countless civic

And social groups

Because of their efforts

And money they raise

For churches, museums

Deserving our praise

There's so many places
That can use helpers
At food pantries
And animal shelters

With meals on wheels
Or as your tour guide
Great services
You would be denied

Those smiles they bring
To so many faces
With hospital visits
And classroom places

And volunteering

Will help fill their day

When they are retired

And don’t need the pay

They put out fires
These brave volunteers
Whenever they're needed
Without any fears

Thank you cards

Thank you cards

For gifts received

When I don’t get

I do get peeved

A gift that’s mailed

I’d like to know

If they got it

A card would show

How hard is it

To write a note

Saying you like

The large banknote

Birthday presents

And bridal showers

A thank you note

Even for flowers

Thank you cards

Handwritten and sent

Even for gifts

You’re not content

An email card

I didn’t expect

A video thank you

I’ll gladly accept

Traffic Jam

The cars are stopped

In one long row

A traffic jam

They cannot go

Just one person

In every car

They sit and wait

They can’t go far

The carpool lane

They cannot take

With just themselves

They can’t partake

The cost of gas

Cannot be split

Cause in their car

They only sit

No restroom stops
No place to eat
Because they're stuck
In  their car seat

So in my car

With room to spare

I'll sit and wait

When I can share
