The wrecker's ball

The wrecker’s ball
Dynamite
The building’s gone
It isn’t right

Memories
That grand hotel
It wasn’t updated
The rooms didn’t sell

A new hotel
With more than one tower
Not like the one
The crane did devour

Renovation
It didn’t pay
This old hotel
Was done away

A tear down home
Because it’s too small
They’ll build a big home
That’s three stories tall

The family moved out
Because they retired
A much larger home
New owners desired

Close to downtown
They wanted to live
The wrecker’s ball
The old home they’ll give

What’s coming now
The land was sold
It once was a farm
You had been told

In with the new
Out with the old
They’ll do what they want
Once it’s been sold
