He's begging for money
Out in the street
While walking around
On both his feet
He says he is hungry
And needs a dollar
Why don’t you work
I want to holler
He's near my car
Holding a sign
Expecting me
To read each line
He's a nuisance
And a distraction
Could he be getting
Much satisfaction
He won’t get a job
But he's on the street
I do pity him
Being out in the heat
Will he buy wine
With the money I give
Or buy some food
To continue to live
Where does he live
Did he come by car
Does he live nearby
Or perhaps very far
I'll turn my head
And just ignore
Although he's begging
He may not be poor
