Hello pretty ladies
You were gone for a whileWe missed your pretty faces
Your poise and your smile
You were taken to Las Vegas
That place just wasn’t rightBut then you did return
Much to our delight
You belong in Atlantic City
Where it all beganAs a swim suit competition
The local people ran
Back to Atlantic City
The parade will be at nightAnd every one of these ladies
Will be a beautiful sight

Miss America 2014: Pageant waves to
Atlantic City once again
They arrived like an assembly of goddesses in the late-afternoon
sun, light glistening off their 53 identical silver crowns. Positioned against
a backdrop of Roman columns in the outdoor amphitheater of Atlantic City's
Kennedy Plaza, beauties from around the country — the contestants in the 2014 Miss America pageant
— gathered on the city's boardwalk for the first time in nine years.
The last Miss America to have her dream come true in Atlantic
City was crowned in September 2004. The next year, the pageant left
"America's Favorite Playground" for Las Vegas. This month, Miss
America is back and both Atlantic City and
New Jersey are rolling out the red carpet.
