The one that got away
I was swimming around
In search of a fishI’d swallow it whole
No need for a dish
Then all of the sudden
So close to meWas a tasty treat
Dangling in the sea
It was not a real fish
It was actually baitWith a long sharp hook
Unaware of my fate
With a hook in my mouth
I was in lots of painBut I thrashed around
No time to complain
My hook was removed
By a boy who was three
But then I was dropped
Back into the seaBy this same little boy
Cause I’m real slippery
My mouth is still sore
From that piercing hookSo next time I eat
I will carefully look
