Steak and chicken
And even an egg
Whatever I’m eating
My dog will beg
A steak that's burnt
Or one that's rare
It makes no difference
My dog doesn’t care
Bagels are chewy
And not eaten quick
Plus my dog licks
The ice cream stick
To bribe my dog
I’ll give her a treat
But never chocolate
Or anything sweet
Less crumbs to sweep
My dog cleans the floor
When begging for food
She’s hard to ignore
She has her own food
But loves tasting mine
She’ll eat her own food
After I dine
